Dagmara Poprawski has graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1992, and has done tropical, and rural and remote medicine for many years. She has completed Masters in Clinical Tropical Medicine in 1998 from Mahidol University in Bangkok. She then returned to Adelaide to undertake physician training, and specialised in medical oncology. Since 2013, she has undertaken work in regional South Australia, and is currently the Acting Clinical Director of Country Health Services in SA. In 2016, she has completed Diploma in Geriatric Oncology and is a member of SIOG. The challenge currently is to roll out tele-trials, for which she and the Flinders Medical Centre team have been awarded the BEAT Cancer project grant.

Geriatric Oncology

Dr. Sebastian is an Associate Prof in the Department of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis of MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) and the Director of NCI funded Research Histology Pathology & Imaging Core in MDACC which supports both translational research and drug development programs for multiple institutions in the country. He is a board certified pathologist and toxicologist with more than 20 years of experience in both academia and drug industry. After completing his PhD and residency in pathology from University of Kentucky, Dr. Sebastian held faculty positions in in University of Georgia, Cornell University and Columbia University, where he was the Chief of Comparative Pathology. After working 6 years in biotech industry, in August 2016, Sebastian was recruited to MDACC. Dr. Sebastian was/is a Co-PI of multiple federally funded grants from NIH and BARDA.

Professor Anderson holds the Established Chair in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bradford. She obtained her first degree in the University of Wales and second degrees in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Manchester. She has an H index of 57, 450+ peer-reviewed papers, 8 books, has successfully supervised 26 PhDs, and been a member of editorial boards of 10 international journals. She has been or is Editor in Chief of a book Series on toxicology for J.Wiley and sons and the Royal Society of Chemistry respectively. She gives key note addresses at various international meetings. She is a consultant for many international organisations, such as the WHO, NATO, TWAS, UNIDO and the OECD

Dr. Salem Chouaib completed his undergraduate studies at the university of Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris VI) at Pasteur Institute. He received his Doctorat es-sciences (Ph.D.) in immunology, (laboratory of Jean Dausset, Nobel prize in medicine) in 1983 from the same university. He then joined the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where he undertook a post-doctoral training in Human Immnogenetics Laboratory. In 1986, he was appointed as research associate at the French National Institute of Health and Biomedical Research (INSERM) and joined the tumor biology department at the Institut Gustave Roussy. At present he is research director and is heading the INSERM research unit 753 (Human Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy). Dr Chouaib’s laboratory currently focuses on the investigation of the functional cross talk between cytotoxic cells and tumor targets in the context of tumor microenvironment complexity and plasticity. Dr Chouaib research was constantly directed at impulsing the transfer of fundamental concepts in clinical application in particular in the field of cancer vaccine and cancer immunotherapy. He was awarded the cancer research prize of the French ligue against cancer in 1992 and in 2004 the presidential prize in biotechnology. He is lecturing tumor immunology for the PhD programs at the University Paris Sud. His research resulted in more than 220 scientific articles and several reviews in the field of human immunology and tumor biology as well as in editorship for contribution to several books. Furthermore he is guest lecturer at different universities. He is ad hoc referee for numerous journals and scientific foundations. He is a member of various professional associations and is scientific advisor and consultant in many scientific institutions.

Abdolrahman Shams Nateri Completed his doctrate degree on the genetic engineering of Picornavirus, human Parechovirus 1,at the Essex Univ. later on in the year 2001, he joined as a member of Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) London Research Institute (previously known as ICRF), where he carried out his fundamental basic-research into the links between transcription, MAPKs signaling & diseases, including the cellular/molecular biology of cancer and also rewarded with publications with top journals.In 2007, he joined as a faculty of the UoN, where he intially started as a lecturer, and was promoted as an Associate Professor,his endless passion in cancer-biology and excellent achievements boasted publications in Nature, Science, etc and more recently J Exp Med & Stem Cells.

Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders (both neoplastic & non-neoplastic),Cancer Genetics, Transgenic Murine Technology, Stem Cells, Reprogramming of Cancer Cells and Links between Signalling, Transcription and Diseases,cellular basis of IES cell self-renewal, the interaction of stem cells with their specialized microenvironment (stem cell niche) and the relationship between stem cells and tumorigenesis.

Dariusz Borys is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Orthopedic Surgery, Head of Orthopedic and Pediatric Pathology and Director of Digital Pathology at Loyola University Chicago. He has received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wroclaw, Poland in 1994 and completed a residency program in anatomic pathology at County General Hospital in Wroclaw, Poland in 1995. He completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona in 1998. He continued on with and completed residency training in both anatomic pathology and clinical pathology at University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. He has received a Pediatric Pathology Fellowship at New York University, New York, New York in 2005 and followed that with an Orthopedic Pathology Fellowship at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York, New York in 2006. After completing his fellowships, he becomes faculty member in the rank of assistant professor at University of California and then he finally moved to Loyola University Chicago in 2013. At LUMC he is appointed as an Associate Professor of Pathology and Orthopedic Surgery and is serving as the head of orthopedic and pediatric pathology and director of digital pathology. Currently his research focuses on the molecular markers in diagnostic, prognostic and targeted therapy in osteosarcoma.

Severyanova L A has Performed research at Kursk State Medical University and received her PhD and later Russian “Doctor of Medicine” at the Pavlov Institute of Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She has been the Head of the Department of Pathophysiology, Dean of the International Faculty, Professor of Pathophysiology, Honored Worker of Higher School. Her Scientific interest is the integration of nervous, endocrine and immune mechanisms in the systemic reactions of the body. She has published more than 50 articles in reputed journals and three monographs.

Anshoo Agarwal is currently working as Professor and In-charge of Pathology Department (female campus), Northern Border University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She has received her Degree from King George’s Medical College. She had been Discipline Coordinator (Pathology Dept.) in University Technology MARA, Malaysia. She is a member of many associations like Indian Association of Pathology and Microbiology, International Academy Pathology, Indian Society of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, Emirates Medical Association Pathology Society, International Economics Development Research Center etc. She has more than 100 publications. She is Editorial Member of three journals and is reviewer in many journals. She had organized many national and international CME’s, Workshops and Conferences.
